1. Abstract

In this project the problem which we entertain is of the organizations with existing data base and data base communicating applications, which are not capable of analyzing and visualizing the data so that to help them understand the critical and sensitive variables of that organization.

We will develop an application (front end) that will visualize the data in different graphical techniques and interactively giving the user the ability to drill down/up (move towards specific or generalized data) with respect to dimensions i.e.

• Location
• Time (week, month, year)
• Customized user based dimension

Further more the application will contain a Performance analytical tool to make the organization stick to its strategy all through the business process. This will include the identification of different KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and analyzing those with the targeted values on daily basis.

A reporting tool will also be available for the users to easily report the advance visualization environment the user currently is in.

This will be a generalized and customizable product that can be applied to almost any field but we will build a virtual retail market database environment (Adventure Works) to demonstrate.

2. Background and Justification
Most of the organizations that use complex databases are unable to analyze the information such that it can be helpful for the business as well as research objectives. Our application will let them identify the specific information and visualize it in such a manner that the user can directly see the affects of critical factors. This can be applied to the retail market to analyze the trillions of data to find the key variable that if changed how it will affect the other key outputs.
