Invariant Organizing Principles

I was raised in a Christian household. I was basically raised in the church. Although my parents were very loving and strict parents, they had to work a lot to give us the life that they never had. Due to this, my brother and I were left to tend to ourselves at a very early age. Therefore, we grew up very quickly. Now the confusion I faced was tremendous growing up. I was born in America to a strict South-Asian Christian family, with a lot of freedom. With the morals, culture, and ideals that were instilled in me at a very early age, it was a confusing time growing up as a pre-teen and a teen. With all the temptation and peer pressure that we face at that age, it is so hard for a person not to succumb to that pressure. And that is exactly what I did.
Although I admit I had succumbed to that pressure, I was always very different than the rest of my friends. In a drunken stump during my early high school years, I would start reciting bible verses, feeling guilty, and talking about how I believed drunkenness was a sin. Most young teenage girls at that time would not even think of saying such things. But that was basically how my teenage years were. I would experiment, feel guilty, then do it all over again. Now I know this does not sound much different than what any other teenager goes through, but the difference between my life and most others were the fact that my parents was such a big part of it.
