Abortion In The African American Community

Abortion is a silent killer in our community. In our community I mean African American. Many people are ignorant the fact that it exists and occurs so often in the United States. None the less us as minority must watch the rising numbers. The Hispanic population already has claimed the title of number one minority. While us as black people are pushed to the back yet again. The reasons are very complex; immigration is noticeably rising, as well as crime and addiction. One cause remains clear abortion is the number one killer in the black community.
Abortion rate for African American women is drastically higher than any other ethnic groups. “ More than 44 million children have been killed by abortion, 15 million of them were black…Killing African Americans than accidents, heart disease, stroke, crimes, HIV-Aids and all other deaths combined!”(Gardner, 2007) Gardner expresses the horrible and harsh reality that is killing majority of the black community. Gardner also goes to speak about black people coming together and saying no to abortions…that the industry will cease and exists. (Id).
Many people think that this will be a big step for every race, unless a law is passed. Since the Supreme Court Decision Roe vs. Wade, allowing abortions to be available to any female wanting a one. The protest groups are fighting hard for that law to be passed, but the Supreme Court must over throw their decision. This will actually be a fight till the end until a decision is made.
. Gardner also says, “We must realize that abortion is a multi-million dollar a year business that makes most of its money killing our children. Abortion providers need us to make their blood money.”(Gardner, 2007).We as a people must understand that we are preparing ourselves to become extinct. We pay abortionists any where from $300-$1,000, depending on the trimester you are in. We are paying someone to kill a living thing. You basically hired a legal hit man.
