The United States of America is always creating new laws to make vehicles “less harmful” to the environment, but they do nothing to make boats run cleaner or more efficient. Nor is anything done to keep the waters clean. Most lagoons will have a film of gasoline and oil over them by the summer, and that is detrimental to the organisms living in the lagoon. The ecosystem cleans up the oil over the winter, but no sooner are the water ways clear we make them even worse than the year before. The waters that surround this great country provide a living for many fishermen, wildlife protection workers, and for many environmental workers. When these waters become polluted this makes the fishermen’s job harder because the pollution can affect the waters salinity.

The soil is also farther away from the plant than the water, so it would be safe to incur that the water could also be contaminated.
