Ethics
Ethics is the idea of practicing and demonstrating good morals and beliefs that will inspire others. In order to practice good ethics, a person needs to have good character, respect for others, positive self-image, and give back to society. Lou Holtz, ex-football coach of Notre Dame University and current football coach of South Carolina University is the motivation miracle worker who demonstrates good morals and beliefs.
During twenty-seven years of coaching, coach Holtz has had a winning record of 216-95, and his positive work ethic that he stressed upon his players never changed. Coach Holtz designed a game plan for his players, which is acquiring the focus and commitment in order to become champions. Coach Holtz in his book” Winning every day” states that becoming successful is not very easy, and it takes sacrifice to be the best. Lou Holtz incorporates the strategy, which is to dedicate yourself to everyone who plays important roles in your life. These people include members of your family, members of your work environment, and society as a whole. Coach Holtz believes that everyone has a potential to become the champion, and during his career he also tries to teach his players how to have a positive self-image on and off the football field. Unlike other coaches, Coach Holtz believes that success in the classroom is as important as success on the field. It is very important that athlete students do well not only in sports but also in classrooms and life. Holtz also believes that life goals are easier to become true if people have good attitude and if they believe in themselves, they will achieve all the things they set out to do.
In conclusion, coach Holtz is one of the greatest motivational legends for athletes and many other people who admire him as an individual with great personalities and tremendous leadership possibilities.
