The Effects of Global Warming
Climate change, more recently known as global warming, is caused by the several different contributors such as, heat trapping gases produced by vehicles, power plants, industrial processes and deforestation. As these gases build up, they act like a big blanket, over-heating the planet and threatening our health, our economy and our environment. Are humans the cause of global warming? Is the fact that the polar bears are dying because of global warming? Did global warming cause the piece of ice the size of Connecticut to fall off of the Antarctic Peninsula? Is global warming the cause for birds laying eggs earlier than usual? Is global warming the cause of mammals breaking from hibernation earlier than normal? Also is global warming the cause of our plants flowering earlier? There are things humans can do to stop or slow down the causes of global warming, but that would mean us cutting down on some of the things humans like to do. This means that we might have to drive less, cut down fewer trees, and even make recycling a law. The global average air temperature near the Earth's surface rose about 3 degrees during the last 100 years. What are some of the consequences of Global Warming? What are the controversies surrounding Global Warming? What are some solutions to Global Warming? Some of the effects of Global Warming are, Rising Temperatures, Greenhouse Gases, and Emissions. “Global Warming is one of the most serious challenges facing us today.” Says the Union of Concerned Scientists. “Let’s consider the possibility that a significant portion of the warming may be natural, and the regions… are likely to have experienced as warm or warmer conditions in their climate history.
