Same Gender Marriage

Same gender marriage is a very new law that people have been trying to legalize all around. Tom me I strongly am against the whole same gender marriage. I don't mind the same sex being together I do have a lot of homosexuals as friends and I never did anything bad about their likes of the same gender relationship. But Marriage is way too far for my blood.
The fight for same gender marriage has been going on for a while till the point our president George W. Bush supports it. I have looked on the web to find some good information of the same gender marriage and for the women side of the same gender marriage, I have found the National Organization for Women, which have been around since 1966, and I found an article by Amanda Cherin and communication Intern. The article explains in 2003 that the United States Supreme Court allowed the gays and lesbians to be together but yet they are not able to get married in any state in the United States. There are is about 594,391 same gender couples that are living together in the United States and yet they don't have the right to be legally married. "I believe in the sanctity of marriage. I believe a marriage between a man and a woman and I think we ought to codify that one way or the other." (President George W. Bush). Based on religion marriage is always between a man and a woman.
Marriage itself I think has changed as years and years go by. That if you think about it, same sex marriage is not such a big change at all. I looked through out the history of marriage and there are so many changes like polygamous marriage was accepted in many periods of history and still going on in some parts of the world. In the mediaeval time in Europe marriage was not based on sexual love. Marriage is now gender neutral, wives and children are not the property of the husband.
