    What is Affirmative action you might ask? Affirmative action is when the less advantaged in society get help in education or business. Affirmative action should be continued because it is need to help minorities get ahead in life by putting them in better school and helping them pursue things that minorities would not pursue due to a disadvantage.   At the same, some say it causes reverse discrimination and that minorities are not working to their full ability.

    One reason that affirmative action should continue is because minority students have to work hard to get a higher education. Without affirmative action most minorities won’t get anywhere because the colleges won’t give them a chance, once they see what school they have graduated from, while white students could go to private schools where they can get a more advanced education and the colleges would accept. Plus inner city schools get about half the money per student then schools in the suburbs. Also Minorities students have to live around gangs, high crime and drugs which makes it hard for them. All this makes minorities feel they can’t go anywhere but with affirmative action it allows them to pursue a higher education.
