Abortion A Women’s Right
In 1973, Roe vs. Wade revolutionized abortion; Roe fighting for a woman’s right to have an abortion in the earlier stages of pregnancy. Roe won this battle in court, and abortion became legal in the United States of America. This caused great controversy since most religions frown upon abortion. Numerous people, who are pro life, believe that people who receive abortions should have the baby regardless of circumstances. Women who go through abortions have personal reasons for getting the abortion. Reasons include being too young and unexpected pregnancy. In most cases, when having a child very young, the mother is not finically stable and mentally ready. In horrendous situations, a woman can become pregnant from being rape. Imagine being pregnant not knowing who the father is. Also, the effects the child would experience when finding out he was born because his mother was raped. So much pressure has been put on abortion and whether it is right or wrong. An abortion should be a socially accepted procedure in which an individual has a right to proceed with an abortion under certain circumstances. Women have the right to choose, it’s their body and their future.
Sit back, close your eyes and imagine you are sixteen year old girl, pregnant, and your boyfriend who you thought loved you has left you. Even though you were on birth control pills to prevent pregnancy, they are not a hundred percent effective, and there will always be a chance of becoming pregnant.
