Education is a pillar of modern society and academic study is the pillar of modern education. Academic study is regarded as the most important part of education. It is not similar with Examination-oriented education, which only provides students with uninteresting knowledge. It is the pillar of modern education and it is still proved by people. The aims of academic study contribute to increase students’ own abilities and encourage learners to practice them possibly.
Firstly, the aims of academic study are to impart us more knowledge in deeper level expends our visual field and help us develop good customs of study. All these are related to personal abilities. In order to achieve this aim, now days many educators are seeking out better methods. One of the studies is the influence of class size on academic achievement. The researches show that smaller class sizes can develop students’ personal abilities better. Smaller classes make it likely that the teacher can give greater individual attention to struggling students. It also allows teachers to encourage more discussion, assign more writing work. Smaller classes are more likely to develop students good habits of study and confidence. In order to impart students more knowledge, schools should provide more books and magazines. In addition, schools also should provide students more practice to expand their visual field.
Secondly, academic study aims at making students set up a goal for their future career and make our career successful. Now days, everyone wants a higher standard of living. The one who gets a well paid job means that he may live a good life. Everyone should look for his own interest. Academic study provides us a big environment to practice different new knowledge and activities.
