Y Generation – Do they Need a Religion?
Did you know that teenagers have had after school fights because of their different
religions?? Reports have indicated that a very high amount of teenagers have had conflict
in schools due to racial discrimination , religion, and the type of apparel they wear…etc.
Now, while one could argue that there is nothing we can do to eliminate conflicts at
school with the adolescents, they are wrong. Religions have given teenagers something to
fight about while not using their total willpower to become a successful person.
Fortunately, there are religions that can help our cause. In the 18th century, a religion that
was very well known; they were the Deists. Since Deism has been around for quite some
time, I think that the religion has a lot to offer today’s generation. Teenager’s need Deism
because it makes it makes them want to help each other out. Deism frees teenager’s
minds into doing what they do best at full potential, because Deism would allow for lots
of creativity. Deism believers are unlike Puritan or Rationalists, because Puritans have
little or no opinion, so they have a lot of internal conflict. Rationalism is better than
Puritanism, because it frees the brain, though they reason too much, as for today’s fast
paced society, the kids would get frustrated with the thinking involved with Rationalism.
For example, Sir Isaac Newton who devised the laws of gravity, was a great Rationalist,
and compared god to a clockmaker. So, to come up with such ideas had to be the freed
mind of a thoughtful person.
