For years, educators have continually strived to improve instructional methodologies for the purpose of enhancing the quality of education for students. Through effort and persistence, most would agree that much improvement has been made in this area. Some would even state that learning options, in the classroom, have been perfected and that the question is more about style. It was not until recent years that a milestone was reached in terms of higher education methods. With the rapid growth of technology and web-based applications, the next natural progression was to bring technology into the field of education. Progress was made in teaching methods but the true milestone was reached when online learning was implemented. The value of e-source learning, learning teams, and problem-based learning is realized in several areas of the lives of participating students.
More than ever, adults are choosing to further their education. Adults desiring to attend college or even receive an advanced degree, are oftentimes met with barriers. One barrier is fitting education into already busy schedule. The reality of maintaining a family life while pursuing educational goals can become overwhelming. Motivation diminishes when the thought of traveling miles to a classroom and leaving behind one’s family. This coupled with crowded streets and increased gasoline prices can quickly lead to defeat. However, e-source learning provides a better opportunity for adults who are interested in furthering their education. E-source learning eliminates the obstacles associated with traveling to a physical learning environment.
