As a fellow Robert Morris University student there have been plenty of times where I would be in the mirror fixing my hair or washing my hands, and I see a young lady go to the bathroom you hear them handling their business and then you see them walk clean out of the bathroom without so much as a thought to wash their hands. The first thing you do is complain as to how nasty they are. But little do we know that young lady just opened the same door that we are about to open and she has also pressed the same elevator button we will press and she would go and write a paper on a computer that you will be using later. This is the beginning of a disease spread.
Hand washing is cheap and easy to perform. It is also the best way to prevent the spread of disease. However, for some reason the extra 20-30 seconds to wash our hands is too much for many people. Washing our hands is a good thing and should be performed before, during, and after you prepare food, before you eat, after you use the bathroom, after handling animals or animal waste, when your hands are dirty, and more frequently when someone in your home is sick.
By washing your hands you will be able to help prevent disease. In a class project where our main objective was to find where germs and bacteria is most commonly stored. One of our findings was the most obvious and highly grotesque. This finding is the keyboards in the student center. And its no wonder why eating near the computers are banned, the school is merely trying to protect us. Because once we begin typing and then use our hand to eat a poatato chip we have ingested whatever bacteria that is on that keyboard it may even be the germs of that disgusting girl who did not wash her hands.
