Which Method Of The Inspection Is The Right One?

Inspection is one of the most important works in the manufacturing, oil and related industry, and choosing the method of inspection is another important work. You have to know about the materials and the procedures and the inspection method to decide which method is appropriate for this work. This decision will affect everything; the cost of project, the time of evaluation of the test results, and also the result of the test.
You should know what kind of defect this procedure may have or what kind of defect you want to look for in this project. Sometimes we can detect a defect using two or three methods, but every method has its ability, and they are sensitive to a special group of defects. Another thing is the cost. Every method has a different cost, we can detect a defect by using a different method and it will cost less for us. For example there are two usual methods for detecting defect near the surface in metal. One is (PT) Liquid Penetration test, and the other is (MT) Magnetic Particle Test, usually the Magnetic Particle Test is cheaper, but if we have a stainless steel object, we can not use this method because stainless steel is non-magnetic.
When we want to check inside a material, the three usual methods are UT (Ultrasonic Test), RT (Radiography test) and MT (Magnetic Particle Test). With all of this method we can check inside a material, but they have some differences. With MT it is possible to do the magnetic materials, but it does not matter for UT and RT. For doing this type of test, we need to have access to at least one side of the object. If we decide to use the MT, we should consider that we can use this method for the materials up to 4 millimeter thickness; however, if we have a material with 6 millimeter thickness, we can use this method, but we should do the test from both sides; so they cover each other. Thickness for RT is about 30 centimeter, and we have to access to the both sides of the object. Thickness does not matter...
