The speech was very one sided. He was just basically trying to state his claim, by first saying he wasn’t going to be elected and then switches it up to show why he is going to be elected. He was very bias in the sense that he says he is in complete control now. And after being elected the first thing he is going to do is hire a district attorney to put his campaign counterpart in jail. He also makes references to the middle class and “slum child”. To me that was his basically saying that middle class or lower class people have a slum life. He is also using a false dilemma by only giving the people the two choices. One person to choose whom is him. Has sat back and basically done nothing to help with his campaign. And two his campaign counterpart who he has sat back and waited for him to do something wrong so that he can feed off of that and hope to get a victory. He says flat out that he has made no promises of any kind, and now that his counterpart is in trouble for whatever reason, he is going to use that to his advantage. He talks about the working class as underprivileged, underfed and underpaid. Although this may be true, he is now using this to his advantage to help him persuade this group of people in hope for more votes. He is saying that he will help the working class, but I find this hard to believe when he didn’t say anything to help persuade them before this event happened. I do not believe that his arguments were persuasive. He basically didn’t really give the audience an argument to go off of. He makes his whole situation one sided and talks about how great he is and how bad his counterpart is. He makes his arguments all one sided by saying he is going to help the working class, how he didn’t think he had any hopes of winning so he didn’t do much campaigning. I find this type of campaigning hard to digest. Its hard for me to think that someone who has just sat back, made no promises or even help persuade others on why he should be elected, sit...
