My childhood
Childhood memories are the most precious memories to everyone. My childhood is the happiest to me until now. My magical childhood was experienced in a small city in southeast of Gan Su. The city was backward 20 years ago. Although the living standard was not high, our life was very happy.
My parents were busy working so I lived with my grandmother’ families in that time. There was a big garden in my grandmother’ house. Different kinds of plants were planted in the garden. In spring, the garden was decorated with pink peach blossoms, white flowers of pear and apricot flowers. In summer, Chinese rose, peony, orchid vied with each other for glamour. Sparrows were chirping on the branches. I remember digging for cricketers there with my cousin. In autumn, peaches, pears, apricots are flourishing. In winter, the garden was a vast expanse of whiteness. It looked like a paradise. The garden was a kaleidoscopic forest to me. My grandmother raised a big dog and a fat cat. They were always fighting. Sometimes I rode on the dog’s back. The dog was my tutelary saint. The yard was my paradise in that time. Everyday, my mother rode me school by bicycle .On the way to school I said some words from the bottom of my heart to mother.
When the spring festival was coming, my family members would gather together. Elders played majiang. Children played games. We made dumplings together. The home was filled with happy laughters and cheerful voices.
Whenever I recollect these, I feel so warm and happy. As I continue to mature, these vanish forever. Many skyscrapers take the place of tranquil yards. Sparrows fly away. The air is no longer fresh. The traffic jam is more serious. The people are busier. No people have time to stop to listen to my words. My heart is lonely. Sometimes, I really want to go back to my childhood.
