Walmart Essay

We all have our favorite place to shop, a favorite charity we give to, or a favorite place to eat.   How would you feel if one day your favorite charity was embezzling all the money for their own financial gain, or you find a roach in your dish from a favorite place you eat?   Some people would not give any more money to that charity or make a complaint.   There are some people that would not go back to the restaurant where they found the roach or they might make a complaint.   In order to change something needs to be said or dealt with.   So, what do you do when the favorite place you shop at are treating their own employees unfairly and unjustly?    
“We focus on doing the right thing and we stay the course”, quoted by Walmart, CEO.   The High Cost of Low Price by Robert Greenwald.   Why are so many employees complaining and depressed to work for such a company?   Walmart is good for the consumers but unfair to their employees.   When people think of Walmart they think “Bargain”, “Great Deals”,”One Stop Shop” and they have many locations.   So, what is it that lies behind the curtains or shall we say closed doors?     When one reads the book on Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich.   Ehrenreich wanted to do a story about low wage Americans who wanted to know how low income people survive the real world.   She tried different positions and also became an employee for Walmart.   The movie on the The High Cost of Low Price by Robert Greenwald portrays how Walmart employees were treated.   We will hear from a friend who would like to be anonymous and she use to be a Walmart employee for three years in California.   Walmart has been treating their employees unfairly and unjustly.   They do not accommodate their employee’s needs; they are under paid and over worked.
