CAPITAL PUNISHMENT
The right to life is undoubtedly the most fundamental of all rights. All other rights add quality to life in question and depend on the pre-existence of life itself for their operation. The human rights committee refers to it as "the supreme right from no derogation is permitted even in time of public emergency". The right to life is undoubtedly at the apex of the hierarchy; to those submitting arguments for universal fundamentality and thus no hierarchy, the right to life is still recognized as pre-eminent given violations can never be remedied. In spite this; the right to life is one of the more controversial rights, due to the inherent problems in defining its scope at the peripheries-the beginning and end of life. Therefore, the right to life is not absolute as is illustrated by the application of the salient laws in time of armed conflict.
Capital punishment is the death sentence awarded for capital offences like crimes in-volving planned murder, multiple murders, repeated crimes; rape and murder and many others, where in the criminal provisions consider such persons as a gross danger to the existence of the society and provide death punishment. Some methods of applying the death punishment are boiling them in oil, throwing them in snake pits, dragging them under boats, flaying them, poisoning them, burying them alive, drawing and quartering them, Hanging, by Firing Squad, Electrical Chair, Poisonous gas, Lethal injections, Stoning and Guillotine. But today, governments tend to be more civilized--or at least less creative--in the way they deal out death against their own people. And some methods of execution that are authorized in the states of America are shown below:
Tennessee Authorizes lethal injection for those whose capital offense occurred after December 31, 1998; those who committed the offense be-fore that date may select electrocution by written waiver.
