The loss of my boyfriend’s life my junior year helped me find my calling in life. One memorable conversation I had with him before he died allowed me to be passionate about going into the medical field. He said to me, days before he passed, “I know I won’t be able to go to college, but you can. I know you will be that amazing person to go on and help others, as you helped me.” This ignited and strengthened my desire to help others.

The three years before he passed was difficult, but it pushed me to stay busy. I joined multiple clubs and held an officer position in six of the seven clubs. I kept my life going because the last thing I wanted to do was waste any of the precious time I had.

As an Officer of Key Club, I worked with teams of people to organize Key Club events. One I am most proud of is a faculty football game that raised money for a fellow student who was disabled and in need of a motorized wheelchair and car lift. This event won first place in the Southwest District Service Project of the Year. This event is now an annual event to help students in need.

I have actively been involved in National Art Honor Society for two years and serve as treasurer. I competed in athletics year-round and was Captain of two sports for multiple years. Since my sophomore year, I have been involved in Track, Cross Country, and Vail Running Clubs; serving as either President or Vice President.

I thoroughly enjoyed my construction class and joined the school construction club. I entered a citywide competition to plan, design, and build a playhouse. My design won
First Place at the Sheba Home and Garden Show.

Track and Field has been my main sport for four years. I was awarded Hardest working and MVP my junior year. I was 4A Kino Regional Champ in the Hurdle events. I’ve competed in state for three years. Last year I placed 4th in the Three-Hundred Hurdles, 7th in the...
