Abstract One:
Noticing, as a controversial term in cognitive psychology and second language acquisition (SLA), has been discussed for many years. The concept of“Noticing”made by Schmidt is commonly accepted. Besides, there is still no consensus on the role of noticing in SLA. Based on the theory“Noticing”, the focus of this study is to testify Schmidt’s Noticing Hypothesis and to validate the crucial role of noticing in language teaching, especially in college English writing. Based on the data collected by writing test, different classroom teaching methods, and questionnaire, using SPSS software analysis, the paper analyzes the function of noticing in college English teaching from the point of morphological errors and concludes that ’Noticing’ does play a crucial role in the teaching of college English writing, which is in accordance with the Schmidt’s idea.
