Marketing assignment 2 Intro I have decided to do my study on British Airways (BA) I believe they are a strong company that has stood up against many rivals and changes in the industry. Brief history BA is the proud flag ship carrier of United Kingdom founded on March 31, 1974. Today, it is a top ranked and largest airline in the UK based on fleet size, international flights and international destinations. BA celebrated its 90th anniversary on 25 August 2009. It holds a United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority "Type A" Operating License and is permitted to carry passengers, cargo and mail on aircraft with 20 or more seats. BA is a founding member of the "One world airline alliance". Task 1 Product - A product is seen as an item that satisfies what a consumer needs or wants. They are tangible goods or an intangible service. Intangible products are service based like the tourism industry. Tangible products are those that have an independent physical existence. As stated by Needham, Dave (1996). BA is a company in the travel industry dealing in oversee flights their flight routes cover 370 total destinations worldwide. It is one of only nine carriers to fly to all six permanently inhabited continents and offering year-round low fares. Most flights of BA are however overnight stay can be arranged. BA offers 23 Kilos in economy class (one bag) and two bags in World Traveller Plus. In-Flight Food and Entertainment range from Video, Audios, personal TV, EM power, world class food, drinks, internet (in Airbus A 318).There are four cabin classes on international flights - First, Club World, World Traveller and World Traveller Plus. For flights within Europe, there is Club Europe and Euro Traveller, and for UK domestic flights, Business UK and UK domestic. BA is one of the oldest airlines and has focused their development on being a high quality airline
