The war on terror first came to the immediate attention of Americans after September 11, 2001 when the terrorist attacked the World Trade Center in New York City. The actual phrase, War on Terrorism was first used by the Western press to refer to the attempts by the Russian and European governments, and later the U.S. government to stop attacks by anarchists against international political leaders. According to the website of the White House there is an agenda set by Bush and his administration for the war on terrorism and the number one objective is to defeat terrorists and they destroy their organizations. The war on terror is real and it helps to give some sort security to countries.
On September the eleventh, the world realized they were not safe from anything. This especially was true for the United States. The United States is one of the most important superpowers in the world who thought they were secure and was anything but. Members of the Al-Qaeda terrorists outsmarted the US’s border control and every other department of security it has. This alerted and assured the governments of the World they were under attack by terrorist. The US which had been affected immediate by this attack declared a global war on terror. After those words came to major wars that still exist today. According to the Office of the White House, the Bush administration formed a list of objectives to destroy the terrorist groups. These objectives include; Defeat terrorists such as Osama Bin Laden, Eeman, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and destroy their organizations, Identify, locate and destroy terrorists along with their organizations, Deny sponsorship, support and sanctuary to terrorists, Diminishing the underlying conditions that terrorists seek to exploit and Defend US citizens and interests at home and abroad. The US has been pressing firmly forward in the war of terror. Gaining help from other countries that are worried about terror in.
