SUBJECT: The further development of Moodle for better use for English and German students

Purpose
The purpose of this report is to examine the results of a survey conducted among the students of English Philology at Kolegium Karkonoskie, in which they were asked about the web – site designed for students of English and German Philology named Moodle. The data on which the report is based was obtained from 40 students. The survey was conducted from 30th March 2009 until 7th April 2009.
Easiness of managing and access
Out of forty respondents questioned ninety-five per cent reported that they have an account on Moodle web – site, five per cent responded negatively. It seems that Moodle is a considerably easy site to manage for an averagely computer-acquainted student. A significant percentage (ninety per cent ) of all the viewer reported that they experienced no major problems using the site, ten per cent admitted having experienced problems. When asked whether they would need a workshop to use Moodle, ten per cent respondents were of the opinion that everything is simple, twenty per cent were of the opinion that there should be one in October, forty-five per cent admitted it would be good to have a workshop, and twenty-five per cent answered that they do not need a workshop.
Purpose and frequency of using
Moodle offers the students a wide range of very useful tools, which can facilitate their learning. On the basis of the findings it may be concluded that twenty-eight per cent of those questioned uses Moodle to send their essays and assignments, twenty-two per cent uses Moodle to check the grades, eighteen per cent uses Moodle to communicate with other course members and tutors, fourteen per cent uses Moodle to download...
