Dear Scholarship committee,
My name is (insert name), I’m a senior at (insert name of school), and at the moment I am currently 17. I have attended school at (School name) for 6 years going on 7. I enrolled at (school name) in the 5th grade and have been here throughout my high school career. During the time I’ve spent in school I have acquired all of the necessary skills in the academic field permitting me to say that as a learner, I’m ready to move on from high school.
We’ve always been told that we need to do well in school in order to get anywhere in life, something that my parents have no problem reminding me of every day. But, I know that getting an education and having a good job means nothing if your not happy with where you are or what you’ve become. There are too many people who go into a profession for all the wrong reasons. They decide to take a job for the money instead of taking it because it’s something they truly wish to pursue. Even with all the money they may be making it doesn’t change the fact that at the end of the day they’re still stuck with a job they despise. The only thing I will ever factor into my career decisions is my own happiness because that is more important to me than anything else. So, when I do decide what profession to go into I know it will be what I truly want for myself.
As of now I’m unsure of what it is that I want to do with my life. I think that’s a question I’m not ready to answer quite yet and I’ll consider myself lucky if I ever am. With that in mind I don’t have my entire life mapped out, but I do have a general idea as to what I would enjoy going in to. I’ve always enjoyed playing game consoles and have always had a natural aptitude for working with computers. After mentioning this to a few people I’ve been told that a technical college is something that would be a suitable choice for me after high school, or at least one to greatly consider.
