Employment is a necessity to a healthy prosperous life; there are many benefits of leading and living this way. Working develops depth to life through structure, self-respect, and social acumen amongst the society. Countless individuals ignore an interest in a career that may produce an everlasting affect on their life. Many careers define identity and also perspective on a person’s life. Not only is it important to have a job, but it is important to do something that is enjoyable. While many people realize there is a need to be employed, they may not understand the concept of evolving in a career. Though a career as a computer scientist is one that requires a higher level of education, it will lead to many employment opportunities and a generous salary.
Technically inclined individuals are apt to excel in a computer field. The rapid and widespread use of computers and information technology has generated a need for highly trained workers proficient in various job functions (Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor). There are a variety of job titles under what is know as a computer scientist, of which are database administrators, network systems, data communication analysts, and web designers. In the field of a computer scientist, a person must be a well-rounded individual to function in a fast paced environment. It is imperative for individuals to adequately work with vast amounts of software and hardware, and to understand the basic concepts of how they function. It also may require being on call in the case of a network administrator, due to server failures stated Professor Dennis Thoryk (Thoryk). Those who are successful in this field are analytical, creative, and technical people that enjoy problem solving.
The nature of work in this field entails excessive knowledge. Individuals in this field are at a must to achieve a higher level of education. A master’s degree or Ph.D. to become mobile for large corporations, unless they are...
