Yes, we all believe that our generation is rather different from our parents. Our thoughts dont match, our ideas are different. We have different values in life than they had in their time. This is mainly because the world changes, and people, we have to change and adapt to them.
Talking about the generation gap, its important that we have a clear image of what our parents lives were back then. The world was a large mysterious place, not the smaller world we have come to know with new advanced technologies like the internet, and telephones. It took months for news to travel from one country to another, unlike today, where it does not take more than a few seconds for news to travel around the world. They led a simple life, one of hard work, where as our lives have become so convinient that there is a machinery to do almost evry single thing for us.
Attitude towards the culture and tradition is one tremendous difference between us. In our parents generation, tradition and culture held more value then it does to us. Their marriages were often decided by their parents and at an early age, resulting in many offsprings. Often times, it was arranged to someone they barely know. Contrary to that, in our generation, tradition plays little importance, and we choose whom we marry. Infact, our generation most likely puts off being married and giving birth.
When it comes to education, our generation is more educated than that of our parents. Perhaps because education did not play such an important role back then, and chances of obtaining it were very low. Today, we spend most of our life educating ourselves, and there are many degrees of education at our homes today. With the rapid development in technology, we have made more progress than our parents have.
Last but not the least, our generation believes in equality between men and women. Looking back in our parents...
