A divided world.
Being human, it is meant to be able to do everything in term of a human, in order to make great contribution to the society. However, in reality, the prejudices of society about femininity and masculinity lessen the values which each person can dedicate to mankind. Had it been discuss for a long time, but people rather not to consider it much, seems to be accepted it as a usual thing in life. But it is not! There is nothing usually in the way we stagnate our progression with the boundaries we self-created for ourselves. I, myself, considered it as suicide.
Thinking critically about “femininity”, “masculinity”, those are concepts which come from the society. The biological gender of a person doesn’t affect the way he or she be considered as femininity or masculinity (Spence 1985). The society gives one’s gender identity through some specific decisions, which are different from place to place, from time to time. Generally, femininity is described as being aggressive, dominant, competitive… while masculinity is defined by being emotional, passive, cooperative… Each one has its own benefits that are suited in certain situations. The prejudices that force people to strictly follow their gender’s identity are harmful as it creates boundaries for individuals. For most of the time, it obstructs them to achieve their goals.
Restriction is always bad thing, especially if that is your gender, thing that you can’t decide, which makes you to be restricted not to act as you like. Rely on society’s prejudices, we are asked to be masculine as we are men, to be feminine as we are women. However, usually, it is not a good choice for a people to pursuit a strictly rule like that. A man can feel uneasy to pursuit the model of an aggressive general, but is emotional inside, which can be considered as feminine. So why force him to go to the army and become a hero, which can never be true, rather than let him grow up with his kind-hearted, and...
