‘The turn of the screw’ by Henry James is not a classic horror and thrilling ghost story. Confusing, absolutely different and difficult for me to read and understand, this story blow my mind. Novell written by unnamed Governess and contains mystery and secrets. There are almost no dialogues, the young and beautiful lady spending pages to describe her feelings and thoughts as a narrator. The describing style is psychological and slow. Unfortunatly, İ can see the story only through her eyes and understand as little as she. This novel is different and İ can’t just simply read it, İ have to think about it and decide wherther to believe Governess’s story or not. The most curious part of the novell is the unanswered questions of whether these are really ghosts trying to take control under children, or simply Governesse’s imagination? She was hired by the childrens uncle, who is not interested in their lifes and prefer to stay not being disturbed. Children are ‘playing’ with Governess, she...
