Rabbit for President
Silly Rabbit, politics are for kids, it is true; politics are not something for people who think they are better than someone else, just because they pretend to be smart. In the book The Tao of Pooh, Benjamin Hoff says, “After all, if it were cleverness that counted, Rabbit would be number one…..” (Hoff 14). So, that is why I think Rabbit would be the best President, and Owl would not.
The reason Rabbit would be the best is because of his cleverness. Just listen to Pooh’s comments about Rabbit, “Rabbit’s clever,” said Pooh thoughtfully. “Yes,” said Piglet, “Rabbit is clever” (Hoff 15). Of course Rabbit is not perfect, but he does not stop trying. That is why he would be the best candidate for the job.
I do not think that Owl would be the best President. “Owl, what comes after Monday?” I asked, “Well of course it is twosday and then thirdsday is next.” (Hoff 25) Owl only pretends to be smart; we can not have a fake for president that would not be good for anyone. Owl just tries to fill you with fancy words that confuse you so think that you do not understand, what he is hiding is that he really does not know the answer himself. Rabbit is not this way, he is not smart just to look smart, he is smart because he is practical. “My dear Pooh,”...
