Introduction
Fiber Optics is the technology connected with the transmission of information as light impulses along a glass or plastic wire or fiber. It has applications in communication, medicine, engineering, industry and much more. The medium of this is the wire or fiber used to transmit this information in the form of light, is also known as fiber optics or fiber optic cables. Fiber Optics are actually long, but very thin pure glass. This bundled together and applied with a jacket covering makes a fiber optic cable. Light travels through the cable by continuously reflecting the internal surface of the core of the optical fiber. The glass internal surface or the cladding of the core is almost entirely reflective, making it a very efficient. Because of this property that fiber optics has, information can be transmitted as light for very long distances and at very fast speeds.

Fiber optics has many applications in today’s world. The use of fiber optics has mainly been focused in Communication and Medicine. Fiber optics is currently aiming to be used in all wired communications industry. Fiber optic Cables are set to completely replace conventional electrical cables usually made of copper as it is more reliable and is much faster.
