Introduction
The recommendations for the Bead Bar systems development plan will be outlined in the systems development life cycle (SDLC) in a seven step process. Initial planning is the first step of seven and is instrumental in the development of the SDLC. The second stage will outline a critical analysis and will entail 4 types: technical, economic, schedule and operational analysis. After the completed analysis the design of the SDLC will be followed with development using joint application development (JAD) team, consisting of Bead Bar’s senior management team. JAD will enhance the time frame of the SDLC and aid in a successful conceptual model. Testing of the system will ensure further development of implementation and deriving at maintenance and a maintenance schedule.
The purpose of the SDLC is to provide Bead Bar with an information system to streamline their business from a paper based company to an efficient information system that will implement a medium for data recording and storing of information in a globalized market for Bead Bar’s products and services, intuitively connecting Bead Bar’s branches and improving customer service. The SDLC will control orders, ensure correct invoicing and negate delays. The SDLC will give Bead Bar a strategic edge over its competition and have capabilities to interface with specific business groups, thus allowing the company goals to be met.

Planning
Explores the opportunity and questions the options of the intended business needs. Planning requires and is developed with the second step of the SDLC, in which a system analysis is performed. The planning phase is the building of a conceptual model based on analysis of need, cost and complexity of Bead Bars data processing in an information system.
