Whether believe it or not, living in such a society filled with fierce competition almost everywhere has forced us to receive the fact that speed and efficiency become a standard measuring how well we can get our work, not just a little, done within the limited time. In order to show our abilities of dealing with urgent cases, we are willing to accept the challenge and prepare for a sacrifice of not that much time for rest. The reason is that we have aims, which motivate us to seize each opportunity to make them come true, and which are also illustrations of our needs to adapt to the competitive world. As for these reasons, I totally disagree with the psychological principle that anyone can do any amount of work, provided it isn't the work he is supposed to be doing at that moment. But reasonably, people of this sort exist. Here I intend to give a simple analysis that indicates the causes of this phenomenon.
In the first place, no man was born for willingness of laborious work. However, we are not objecting to working hard even out of necessity, with the purpose of satisfying our desire for leisure. As the competition becomes even more violent in the economic crisis period, we encourage ourselves to work against the clock for fear that we might lose our present jobs. Therefore, our nerves are no doubt always tense, which tortures us without reserve. Then we increasingly hope that we can extend the dead line of our work, at least have a few minutes to breathe. That is also why we accept to do any amount work in the future except now. To some extent, we are just too tired to address urgent tasks. To finish a pile of urgent things is too tough for a really nervous mind.
Secondly, we human being sometimes will be under the control of laziness, especially those lazy ones. When we are indulged in lazy but free condition, we tend to think that to accomplish a single thing at the moment is more difficult than to get rid of a lot more things later. Not can a...
