Deontological ethical systems and teleological ethical systems are the two groupings of ethical systems. They broadly group the various types of ethical systems into two basic ideas or beliefs. Although they are grouped into two separate beliefs, the various types of ethical systems are very different in their own ways. Some people may be able to relate to certain ethical systems, and may disagree on the way other ethical systems set their beliefs on what makes something a good or bad deed. Having an opinion on all these systems is not the main agenda, but rather understanding each one in its own idea.
What one may believe is good may not be entirely true for another person, everybody has a different idea of good but follows many different ethics to get to this conclusion of what a good deed is. Deontological and teleological ethical systems are very different one major way. The way these two ethical systems are different is determined whether the intentions are good, or what the outcome of the act was. A deontological ethic system would be determined by the intentions of an act regardless of whether or not the act resulted in a good or bad way. A teleological ethical system would be determined in the total opposite of a deontological system, where the act is considered good depending on the outcome of an act regardless of how it may appear to others.
The system ethical formalism is definitely a deontological ethic system not only because that the text says it is, but the theory behind it is exactly what a deontological system is.
