The world’s population is struggling to come to terms with the issue of global warming and how it is becoming more than just a false belief. The symptoms of the earth’s sickness can be proof of trapped greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
Greenhouse gases can be defined as any of the atmospheric gases that contributes to the green house effect. The greenhouse effect is the phenomenon where the earths atmosphere traps solar radiation, caused by the presence in the atmosphere of gases such as carbon dioxide, water vapor, and methane that allow incoming sunlight to pass through but absorb heat radiated back from the earth’s surface.
Greenhouse gases come from products that humans consume daily. Carbon emissions from the burning of fossil fuels, according to the Institute of Environmental Wellness is the main contributor of these gases.
Trapping these gases in the atmosphere produce the rise in the earths temperature by combining greenhouse gases and ultra violet rays from the sun. The gases act as a magnifying glass which ultraviolet rays travel through, and heat the surface of the earth at a faster rate than normal. The rate at which the earth’s temperature is rising is creating environmental problems on a global level.
Some of the side affects can be found in Spain. There is a breed of bear that has been found roaming the woods collecting food in the winter. These bears should be hibernating during the winter season. The rise of the earth’s temperature has created a warmer winter that fools the bears into thinking that winter is not quite in season. This is a major problem in the animal kingdom. In North Dakota, there’s a species of Robin that’s been found migrating to places like Texas as late as December. These findings are not linked to new breeding habits or diet change, they are characteristics based on the change of the earth’s temperature. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)...
