Christianity has been the most influential religion of all time.   Unlike any other religion before or since it has spanned to many nations reached billions of people, and defined a multitude of cultures.   The United States itself was founded on the basics of Christianity; however, lately it seems that we have forgotten our roots.   The layout of Christianity is simple:   Trust in the Lord God, have faith in the teachings of his son Jesus, and rebuke the Devil.   Over the next several paragraphs we will discover personal relationships with God, communicating with God, the developed system of organization, Heaven and Hell, the moral order of Christianity, the amount of its followers, and how it has influenced societies.
To begin to understand God we need to define who he is.   “He is the Cause from which all effects ultimately derive.   He is the Life to which all life owes its being” (Stott 58).   In short, God is the creator of heaven and earth. God is also defined in three ways; God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit.   They’re all one being that make up the Trinity. Trinity is a hard concept to grasp, the word itself never appears in the Bible, but there are many references to it.   In the book of Matthew, after Jesus is baptized “…the spirit of God descended like a dove and lighting on him…” (New International Version Matt 3:16). Like many of the great wonders that God has made, humans aren’t capable of being able to fully grasp the concept of Trinity; however, it will all make sense someday.   God wants us to have a personal relationship with him, through salvation.   Salvation is deliverance from the power and effects of sin.   Becoming born again is the true meaning of salvation, and Jesus stated, “no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again” (John 3:3).   Satan, or Lucifer, who is considered evil in Christianity, does not want us to have a personal relationship with God.   Lucifer, who was once the highest angel in heaven, was cast...
