Months


July and November are the months for me and my family. This is because we see each other a lot in during those months and we partake in various activities. Like the 4th of July we would buy lots of fireworks, and have cookouts. We would be all together and have fun, talk a lot and listen to my uncle’s band play in his backyard. Now we rarely do any of those things together as a family except for maybe having a cookout, but that’s about twice or three times a year.

When I was younger we would do lots of things in the month of July. We would go to Malcolm X Park and watch the fireworks being shot up in the air at the Washington Monument. Then after we do that we would go back home and light our own fireworks and eat some food. In mid July we would have cookouts we would have hotdogs, hamburgers, coleslaw, pork beans, ribs, and bar-b q chicken at my uncle’s house. Then I would see my cousin from my aunt side of the family that I haven’t seen in a long time. My cousin and I would go downstairs and play video games and listen to music while the adults would be upstairs gossiping all day long about anything. Then when it starts to get dark my uncle would start playing with his band and we would sit there and listen to them play different music. Then around nine to ten o’clock we would get some food for the ride home and leave, but we don’t just leave like right away we would sit and wait another hour while the adults would talk and talk until they feel like they don’t have anything else to talk about.

November for me and my family is just like July except for having cookouts it would be Thanksgiving. I don’t get to see all my family members because they go to other people’s house for Thanksgiving, but I don’t care because we make the most out of it anyway.
