Electric charge - A form of charge, designated positive, negative, or zero, found on the particles that make up all matter. Particles with electric charge interact with each other through the opposite charges.
Electric force- Force between two electric charges.
Static electricity- Electric discharge resulting from the accumulation of electric charge.
Induction - there are three types of induction: Electromagnetic induction is the production of an electromotive force. Electrostatic induction is the production of an unbalanced electric charge. Magnetic induction is the production of a magnetic field.
Direct current (DC) - Flow of electric charge that does not change direction. Direct current is produced by batteries, fuel cells, rectifiers, and generators with commutators.
Alternating current (AC)- Flow of electric charge that reverses periodically, unlike direct current. It starts from zero, grows to a maximum, decreases to zero, reverses, reaches a maximum in the opposite direction, returns again to zero, and repeats the cycle over and over again.
Resistance - property of an electric conductor by which it opposes a flow of electricity and pushes electrical energy away from the circuit.
Voltage - the rate at which energy is drawn from a source that produces a flow of electricity in a circuit; expressed in volts.
Ohm’s Law- the relationships between (P) power, (E) voltage, (I) current, and (R) resistance. One ohm is the resistance value through which one volt will maintain a current of one amp.
Series circuit- circuit having its parts connected serially
Parallel circuit- a closed circuit in which the current divides into two or more paths before recombining to complete the circuit
