Two of the most deadliest elements know to man are polonium and radium. These two elements are the pillars and foundation of nuclear energy and radioactivity. Nuclear energy today is very clean and efficient but it has its downfalls. One of the deadliest downfalls is meltdowns and leukemia. We today are thankful and as well angry to these pioneers: Marie and Pierre Curie.
The two grew up at different corners of the world before they wedded. Marie was born in Poland 1867 during the Russian domination which was very chaotic at the time. Pierre on the other hand was born on 1859 in a small serene French town before heading to Paris. Marie at the time had no real education after high school so in response she started to save her money up and aided herself as well as her financially unstable sister, who needed money to continue her studies at a medical college in France. After gathering enough money she left Poland and went to France to complete her education. Pierre at the time was already a chemist in France and had a name for himself. On 1894, Marie was at a lunch bar in Paris. Pierre overheard conservation about chemistry in the lunch bar and joined in. Marie found Pierre very charming and same did Pierre. A year after, having short date after short date they soon married and subsequently gave birth to two daughters, Irene and Eve. Pierre will soon realize that their companionship would be more fruitful than his solo research.
Their marriage as well as partnership had been very prosperous and there alliance accomplished many great things. One of their most vital discoveries were of the elements polonium and radium. They were also discovered the way to isolate pure radium. One of their past discoveries allowed mankind to have computers because they found out that the magnetic susceptibility of paramagnetic is all moving in a inverse motion. These discoveries allowed computers to store information because of the computers small...
