Since the beginning of the nineteen hundreds there has been many

occurrences that have effected the molding and basic development of what the

youth of the United States of America is today. The American Culture is one

thing that was effected greatly in the nineteen hundreds. In the beginning of this

time the television became a key part of entertainment. As there were channels

for adults there weren’t as many for children., let alone young adults, also known

as teenagers. In 1977, this was realized. Warner Cable launched the first two-

way interactive cable tv system known as Qube. Qube offered many particular

channels like “Pinwheel” which thus became Nickelodeon. Another specialized

Qube channel was “Sight On Sound”, which was a music channel that let viewers

watch concert footage and music TV programs#. Qube allowed viewers to vote

for there favorite songs and artists. From the so called “sight on sound” and the

popular “Top 40 Radio” derived as what many know of today, Music Television or

MTV. The Chanel known as MTV affected the American culture and the way

young minds developed, greatly. Due to its influential approach on the young

adults of america the huge change of MTV’s image, over time, affected the way

young minds looked at the American “pop” culture#.

was officially launched on August 1. 1981.When the introduction of this network
