Religion in My Life
Since the day I was even thought of, my religion was embedded inside me. After birth when I received my christening and since the day I was begot on this Earth, Christianity was my religion. I remember at the age of six, on one Sunday in Sunday school seeing a picture in the back of the Bible showing a picture of a man evolving from a monkey. The reason for this image was never understood, however it also had no worth nor meaning. As a Christian I believed God created man and woman, and the theory of evolution has no existence. Though I have always been open-minded to other religions and cultures, what has always been my main source and backbone is Christianity.
Religion plays a great part in my everyday life. Christianity shows me that if I pray in my everyday life, I will be guided and covered by God’s angels. Whether in school, at home, with friends or even at parties, my religion is with me. In times of need religion will always be there for me. Though it may I feel as if my prayers aren’t answered or responded to exactly, every journey and trial or obstacle I face it traveled with my religion.
To me I see god as a father figure. When I see god I picture a grown tall tall man, a giant sort of, sitting in a hard wooden chair. And stuck to his knee is a little child that just loves his father and doesn’t want to let go because he is afraid of not being around him.
My religion has helped me cope with many things in life as far as how the world operates. my religion has opened my mind as to why I must understand, life is not fair, life is difficult and good will not always prevail over evil. I have dealt with many stereotypes dealing with age, sex, and preference, all difficult situations to face alone, but with my religion I triumphed over them. I think my religion helps me overcome these obstacles because it gives me the realization of life.
