There are many different types of kinesiology. Exercise science is a discipline of kinesiology that is on the rise. The growing obesity problem in North America and the strong enfaces put on appearance are two of the major reasons that this discipline is growing so quickly. Also many people are very busy with careers and school that they don’t have the time to read books and create there own work out plans. So as a result people are turning to personal trainers to create fitness plans for them.
A personal trainer has various jobs: to teach how to use the exercise equipment properly, to create a plan for the person so they can reach a certain goal, and many times just for incentive to work out on a regular basis. While designing a personal fitness plan a trainer must take into consideration many things that relate to the persons fitness. The trainer must find a way to incorporate weight training, cardiovascular work, and flexibility exercises. As well, a trainer must track the person’s progress and increase the intensity level as the person improves. Most people see a trainer two or three times a week and can cost them twenty five to eighty dollars a session. However these numbers can increase due to the trainers experience and success with prior clients.
Today, most trainers are recommended to be certified by one of the following associations: National Strength and Conditioning Association, American College of Sports Medicine, or American Athletic Trainers Association and Certification Board, Inc. In many case trainers are also becoming certified in specific work out techniques such as Yoga and Pilates.
