University and college are very different from secondary school. There are a lot of things that you must sacrifice in order to achieve success in your university or college life. You would have to give 100 percent concentration in anything that you do in your studies. There are also lots of distractions that you have to get through to survive such as bad influence from your friends, financial crisis and family problems that will haunt you during your time in university and college life. These are the situations that are the main cause of the high percentage of college or university dropout rates during the first year. To study effectively and efficiently in college or university is very different from secondary school where everything is given to you; being put in the proper terminology it is called spoon feeding.

Firstly, time management is the most important thing that you have think about when entering university and college. You should have your own timetable or daily schedule and try to discipline yourself to follow it according to what is written and also try making it more convenient for example if you prefer studying in the morning or at night. Time management is very important is important because there assignments to be done before the dateline that should be on the first place in the list of your priorities. Try to avoid doing activities that waste your time such as loitering around with your friends or playing pointless video games that rots the mind rather than broadening it. But from the saying ‘All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy’, it shows that should allocate a few hours to rest your mind and sports to build up stamina. Another thing to avoid is procrastination because procrastination would lead you to not finish you given work or assignment in time before the dateline.
