Feeling showbiz tayo ngayon. Kamusta nga pala ang inyong lovelife? Uyy.. Ako, talagang no time for love, puro trabaho ang inaatupag. Dala na rin kasi ng hirap ng buhay.
Pero pag busog ka (lagpas ka na sa biology), at komportable ka na, walang masyadong inaalala (lagpas ka na sa physics), magkakaroon ka ng kakaibang surplus. A surplus of Time. And what do you do with your free time? Aah.. you think about beauty, love, truth, meaning of life ek ek. In short, you enroll in an Ethics class.
Actually ang suspetsa ko diyan, ang Ethics ay resulta ng paglaki ng tiyan, no kidding. Ang tiyan kasi ay nag-e-expand ng 20 times its volume pag puno kesa pag walang laman. So, nagkakaroon ka ng surplus time habang dina-digest ang pagkain. So, more stomach, more time to think! Kaya nga lang, instead of truth and meaning of life, to some people it just means more time to think of food also. Which means, more and more stomach. Kaya wala ring progress sa Ethics.
Ethics - the metaphysics of right and wrong, good and evil, moral and immoral, proper and improper. Do you mind if I smoke? ..Exactly. Some would mind, some would not mind. And that’s how Ethics works. It’s all in the mind.
Or brain, to be more precise. The human brain is equipped with memory, logic and imagination. The memory drive has two main folders: nice and not nice. Now logic scans the memory files and learns from experience, so that the not so nice like poisonous snakes or falling rocks may be avoided, and the very nice like good food and good sex may be repeated.
