Humanistic psychology is an area of psychology that accentuates global competence for individual development. The humanistic outlook is looked upon by some as an instinctively accessible methodology to personality. The insightful allure of this view originates in part from its emphasis on the individuality and dependability of each individual‘s experience. This perspective regards each person’s personal experience as being of foremost significance. The emphasis on individual experience sits nicely with what numerous individuals bring to awareness when they reflect on the word personality.
Another engaging asset of the humanistic perspective is that it takes a positive attitude to human personality. Humanistic psychologists such as Rogers, Horney, and Maslow have maintained determinedly that persons are fundamentally virtuous and are genuinely motivated to be the most excellent they can be.
