ENGLISH LANGUAGE FOR MARKETING
The concepts and the fields of marketing.
1.1. The concept of marketing.
The marketing appeard in the firs half of 20th century in the capitalistic countries initially developped, as a methode of studying and prospecting of market.
Ethimologically,the word ”marketing” derives from English and means the idea of selling and buying, development of market dealings.Gradual, the word became international, beeing taken over in different languages without translating.
It seems that the word has been used for for the first time in 1902 in the official report of Michigan’s University in U.S.A., in the introduction of a university course about product’s distribution, where it is used the expression ”different methods of goods”.
Respecting the delimitations of the concept, the american teacher Victor Buell ironically observes in his work called ”Marketing management: a strategic planning approde”(1984) that ” there are so many definitons of marketing as many books there are written on this subject .
Next, we will give some definitions of marketing accompanied by some additions to understand the essence of the concept and practical activities of marketing.
The reference definition was given by the American Marketing Association Chicago, 1960, of which Definition Committee understands by marketing ”the simultaneous study of economical activities refering to the production’s tendency, the registering and dates analyse about the goods fluctuation and services from productor to consumer or user, or more concise the marketing means ”the realisation of economical activities which manages the goods fluctuation and services from productor to consumer or user”.
