Relationship between personality and motivation
  Last class, we learned about behavior, different personality, and motivation. I would like to talk some relationship between personality and motivation because both of them are very important for us to understand. If we want to be a good leader, we should be better understand “people”, and they are all talk around people.
  Before I explain the relationship between them, I would like to something about personal style and motivation each. We all know that personal style can let us know more about ourselves and understand others, and then you can make a decision. As the article said that understanding different personality, we can practice our own communication style to suit other people. Second, when we know ourselves and others’ personality, we can use different methods to motivate them to improve the performance. So I think they have some relationships.
• Different personality style has different motivation.
    We have test our own personal style and I am a ESTJ, and we can see that everyone is not single like just a senser or just a feeler. It will combine like ISTJ, ISFJ and so on, that’s my point for analysis. I distinguish theses for four big parts like it on page eleven in personal style inventory. First part is introverts sensing types, it including ISTJ, ISFJ, ISPT, and ISFP. If I meet a person who is a ISTJ, he maybe close and likes works alone to analysis details by objective, even focus logic,. I will give him a private office and focus his own private time to let him thinking and analysis. Be active to asking not telling because I know empathy is very important. Say “good job” to encourage him when he did well. Trust him well and that is an intrinsic reward of motivation for them. We all know that money can be a huge motivation, but sometimes it can have wrong behaviors. I still give him extrinsic rewards like give him gift cards, promotion and prize.
