In the beginning of 1973 the first cellular telephone was made at Bell Labs at New Jersey, USA. That phone was invented by Martin Cooper of Motorola. He is the one who made the first call on April 03, 1973 and the person he called is his rival Joel Engel. It tells the first commercial cellphone networks were launched in Japan. (Folkard, 2005 p.155)
Martin Cooper made their cellphone by means of personal wireless communication. He said that their cellphone can call as a first portable communication. Mr. Cooper and Motorola took the phone technology to New York to show it to the public. (Folkard, 2005 p.155)
The beginning of short messaging service or texting was first introduced in 1994 by Globe Telecoms by a free service to attract new subscriber. In the year 1999 Globe Telecoms introduced prepaid mobile services which allowed subscribers to use a mobile phone without any wire or for easy way of communication. The sharp growth in mobile phone density started in 1999 the industry matured with every two out of five adults in the Philippines owning mobile phones. Filipinos are not using their phone for voice calls rather Filipinos are using their phone just to send text messages.   Cellphone is very useful to many people. It has many uses for communication, information and access because of its usefulness many people have it.
First cellphone texting is used for communication and it’s very necessary. It is often used to socialize with other people. And the most useful is that in case of emergency it is easy to get

in contact with the authorities. It is clear that this is also a tool for exchanging ideas between people. We can see that text messaging is more favored in communication because many Filipinos use it because it’s cheaper than any other electronic devices for communication. It helps users to communicate with short message instantly without talking for a long time.
