Title: Nanotechnology: Its development, impact on human life and significance to medicine
Have you ever sat and considered a world without pain or death, a body that shows no age? A time when famine is a thing of the past? These are things, which humans constantly think about, but there is coming a time when we will cease to burden our thoughts with these, then, trivial matters. This is what scientists are hoping to achieve, all these life-impacting thoughts not even a thought anymore.
At some point we all have thought what life would be like without death, living a life free of all illness, a life practical in our thoughts and behaviors. This is what nanotechnology present for humans. A life without the struggles of a typical human, a life not determined by your status but your situation, a life where the common man can succeed through the use of technology made available. The possibilities presented by nanotechnology are limitless.
Scientists, have started to examine the many uses of the science, are exploring the possibilities of nanotechnology and the future is bright. However vast development has to been made in the field for it to be considered safe for commercial use. With advances made, nanotechnology should impact the life of humans in ways we never thought possible. One-way in which nanotechnology will impact human greatly is through medicine.
In the age we now live, chronic diseases are as common as the cold. Diseases that have treatment and possibly a cure, cancer is one such chronic disease. It is treated with radiation, and subsequently can be cured. At present radiation is a very dangerous treatment. Chemotherapy is a harsh chemical brew that poisons not only the cancer but also the entire body, causing weakness, nausea and hair loss (source).
