Micheal King was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, later known as Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. roots were in African American Baptist church. In 1944, King begins his freshman year at Morehouse College in Atlanta. In 1946, Atlanta constitution published martin Luther King Jr. letter stating that black people are entitled to the basic rights and opportunities of American citizens. June 8, 1948, King received his Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology form Morehouse College. Then King begins his studies at Crozer Theological seminary in Chester Pennsylvania. In 1951, king graduated with a bachelor of divinity degree delivering the valedictory address at commencement. In 1953, King marries Coretta Scott in Marion, Alabama. In 1954, King begins pastorate at Dexter Avenue Baptist church in Montgomery, Al. In 1955, King received his PH.D in systematic theology. November 17, 1955, King's first child Yolanda Denise King was born. On Dec. 5, 1955, after civil right activist Rosa Parks refused to comply with Montgomery’s Segregation policy on buses, black residents launched a bus boycott and elected King as president of newly formed Montgomery improvement association. May 17, 1957, At the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. King delivers his first national Address “Give Us the Ballot” at the Prayer Pilgrimage of Freedom.
