Teenagers these days are owners of cell phones and other devices like MP3 players and much more. But as young adults they need to be responsible if they are issue a driver’s license, this includes not texting while driving. Many of them believe that it is okay for them to do it because maybe they see their parents doing it also. Parents need to teach their children the proper way of conducting themselves while driving, and that it is important because when you text while drive your taking your attention away from the road and dedicating it to their cell phones. Many of them are aware of the danger and the consequences that they would bring if they get into a car accident. According to Professional Safety (2011, Vol. 56, Issue 12, p. 18) “A study was conducted in a high school by Liberty Mutual Ins. And students against destructive decisions and they reported that 53 percent of 2,294 students admitted that they text and drive not so often, while 28 percent of them admitted that they do it very frequently.” This is a very serious and alarming problem because now it is the time to change this routine that teenagers have and the parents need to be on top of their children teach them on how to be responsible and that they need to be aware that this can lead to a car accident and even a loss of a life.
Texting while driving it is a very popular topic now in the public media, several states have laws against it but not in every state is the same. It is because in some states the numbers are rising very quickly.
